11 Ways to be a Connector

People often describe me as a connector.

What is a connector? I believe it’s someone with positive intentions who recognizes opportunities to match people with something of value. A connector listens for verbal and non-verbal conversational triggers then offers a connection to something stored from their knowledge portal.

Why am I connector? I intentionally choose to reciprocate because so many people have been instrumental in connecting me with other people for the benefit of my family or business.

Each connection is based on the context of the situation, so here are eleven ways to be a connector.

1. Relationship Connector

Introduce people to form a new relationship when you discover common interest, challenge or opportunity.

2. Opportunity Connector
Inspire people to consider a new opportunity such as a job opening or learning event.

3. Business Connector

Involve business owners in a collaborative arrangements with complimentary businesses.

4. Information Connector

Inform people with data, news and trends.

5. Virtual Connector

Interact with virtual social media. Contribute to discussions and offer ideas, resources and information.

6. Learning Connector

Impact learning outcomes relating to each individual experiences. Help people learn by asking them questions about the experiences and paraphrasing your interpretation.

7. Resource Connector

Instruments such as books, places, tools and techniques are resources to solve challenges or inspire opportunity.
8. Talent Connector

Introduce people with specific talents to people & businesses with similar needs.

9. Celebration Connector

Ignite enthusiasm by encouraging people to recognize successes together.

10. Volunteer Connector

Involve people in volunteer opportunities to encourage community building.

11. Food Connector

So this one is somewhat different. Since I am not a cook, my family might consider me a food connector. Food eventually connects with their bodies even if I have not been part of the process.
